• Julian will be appearing as Mr. Collins in the Virginia Stage Company’s production of Pride & Prejudice. The show runs from January 17 – February 4, 2018.
  • Julian will be presenting at the Global Status of Women and Girls Conference in March 2018 on the use of the play Antigone as a vehicle for social and protest movements.
  • Julian will be directing Sophocles’ Antigone at TheaterCNU in April 2018.



Julian is a teacher, actor, and director. He is an Assitant Professor of Acting at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia.  Julian currently teaches undergraduate classes in acting, voice and movement. He specializes in the Michael Chekhov Technique and is in the process of receiving his teacher certification.

He was an actor and teaching artist in New York City for 8 years. He is a member of Actors Equity Association (AEA) and has acted professionally in Chicago (The Steppenwolf Theater), San Francisco (A.C.T.) and NYC.

Julian was born in Cairo, Egypt and lived in the Middle East throughout his childhood and adolescence, at one time being fluent in Arabic. He received a B.A. in Sociology from The University of Chicago, an M.F.A. in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater and an M.F.A. in Performance Pedagogy from the University of Pittsburgh.
